Present Measuring

To practice measuring, we found the height of each student using red paper that we imagined as presents.  The kids put the 'presents' on the floor to measure their partner's height.  Then they graphed the result.

As a class, we graphed the group's results.  We found that many of the students were the same number of presents high.

The kids were asked to hypothesize why we found these results.  They determined that they were all about the same height because they are all around the same age.  I thought that was a pretty good conclusion.  They even measured me to work through some of their ideas.  It was pretty humorous to see :)
