You will be seeing the US Symbols Unit coming home that we worked on last week. This packet was done during centers. The kids listened to the stories on an ipod and then answered the questions. Some were instructed to listen to the story and talk about the questions with their group. Others were to work on writing the answers. When you look at the packet, there may be some places that are not complete, that is okay. You may want to read the stories with your child and answer the questions together. Remember that every child is working at his or her own level and the writing the answer may not a skill they are ready to master. The standard being covered was to identify US symbols and see why they are important to our country. I do have to warn you that a rough draft of the stories was printed and so there are a couple of typos. I felt that recopying the packets was quite wasteful, so I left the few small errors. It might be fun for you to try and find them.
