Lady Liberty

As part of our US Symbols study, we looked at the Statue of Liberty.  She was a gift from France where it was built, then taken down, and sent over to the United States.  The kids learned that she is made of copper which is why she is a funny green color.  We also looked at her crown and how the seven points represent the seven continents of the world.  The kids realized they could fit inside her nose which is over 4 feet long.
